When the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World opened in 1971, ticket books were still in use and would be until EPCOT Center opened in 1982. ![]() You purchased tickets at ticket booths scattered throughout the park, usually near an attraction. I outlined all of the Magic Kingdom ticket booths in this 1974 map. A, B, C and D tickets were used until 1959 when the venerated E-Ticket was added with the expansion of Tomorrowland. There was a small admission fee, but you paid for each attraction with a ticket. In 1955, Disneyland wasn’t much different.
